You thought your car was fast? This guy decided to buy a new beetle and strap on a jet engine, and still have it road legal. No joke. And he did it. When I was a kid I always wanted to do something like this...except back then I usually used elastic bands and clothes pins, and maybe a electric toothbrush motor on a homemade dinky car.
Visit his website to see how he did it and more pictures.

Well, First I will update you with the situation with the Sinow people I mentioned in my last post. They finally heard the Gospel message of how the God came down to earth as the Messiah, Jesus Christ, and died for every bad thing they had done in their place, taking the blame, and how if they simply believed and asked Him to forgive them then He would make them 100% blameless before God and that their would inherit eternal life to live with Him in heaven forever. And many accepted the message and made that life changing decision, and now they are excited in their new faith and are looking forward to His second coming. I wonder if they celebrated this Christmas... My Christmas went well. I spent it at home in N* with my family. Christmas Eve we played Monopoly and I won, and about an hour ago I lost in an intense battle of Risk, however we had some good fun. We had no snow...actually there has been no snowfall at all where I am in N* except for the day I landed here (Dec 9th) from Ontatio. There was a foot there. I plan on leaving N* on January 2nd with My sister *** and we are driving down to the US where she will leave me at (New York) and she will continue down to *** in Pennsylvania. I am attending a large Missions Conference at Schroon Lake and my school from Owen Sound is being bused down for the 5th, when it starts. I will then go back with them on the 8th or 9th. So it will be nice to get down to the US (If my passport renewal goes well). I finally had my cell phone replaced with the new Sony Ericsson W810i. I like cool gadgets and this has MP3 Player, 2 Megapixel Camera/Video, plus all the standard features. It came with a free 1GB and 4GB memory card for tons of music and photos. My number is the same as before (***-17**). God has been good to me this Christmas vacation and it was great to spend time with friends and family, but soon I will be back to school. I am looking forward to see what this next semester brings. Merry Christmas!

You are suffering from a fatal disease, in which you painfully suffer your entire agonizing life, and ends in a long painful death of suffering. You have been living with this disease your whole life, and you have learned the outcome of the disease, and you know what happens to those with the disease. The worst part of it is that your spouse, your son, your daughter, your baby, and your best friend all have the disease as well. However, you have also been learning that there is a cure, however you do not know what it is. In just a matter of days, what you will learn will change your life, and will be difference of life and death. In a matter of Days you will find out how to rid yourself of this lifetime disease. This is true of the Sinow people of Papua New Guinea. N*** missionaries are in the final week of teaching these people chronologically through the Bible, and it is on the 19th that they will hear about the cure to their sin disease! They know the problem, they know there is a cure, and they come from villages around every day to hear more about God's Truth and they just cannot wait to hear the solution! In just a matter of days many will pass from death to life, and their lives will be transformed inside and out! Imagine....if you were the person described at the top...imagine that disease, now imagine how different your life would be after being cured! Imagine how quickly you would now tell your spouse, your children, and your best friend, and others how they could be cured! Or would you? Or do you? Is it simply because you don't have the time to just "let them know"? I am sure there are many excuses you could come up with. I know I have alot. The question I ask is: Why am I afraid of facing a fear of rejection when they are facing an eternity of pain death and suffering? Just a thought....you can read more about what God is doing in the lives of the Sinow people at N***

There seems to be a new outburst of interest in religious media in the secular world. Hollywood took notice after the Passion, which grossed $612 Million that there is a huge market for movies with religious content. Movies like the Da Vinci Code made the secular world very interested in religious topics, however controversial they may be. That movie was anything but good in the eyes of most America's fundamental Christians. And so Hollywood continues and now stronger than ever to attempt to gain the eyes of America's Christians. A new movie they are now coming out with is called The Nativity Story and tells the story of a young virgin Mary and how she dealt with the burden God gave to her as the one who would bear the Savior of the World. The movie tells the story of Mary and Joseph's journey. Supposedly extra care was taken to ensure the story is accurate with Biblical and historical records. Dozen's of Pastors and scholars were consulted for the making of the film, and from what I have heard many have been very pleased with what they saw. However I am sure that once the movie is released it will be criticized along with most other "Christian" films that are released.
The question I ask is; Why do many of us as Christian's criticize Hollywood for trying to gain money off of making "Christian" films? We will attack any small area of the film which is lacking, however we justify watching other movies such as Star Wars and never even think of how theologically incorrect the movie is? We seem to be carrying a double standard. It is ok to put out a biblically and theologically incorrect movie and we dont question it, but when there is a movie about biblical events we often criticize the motive for creating it or the content, when really the purpose of the movie was to entertain. We arent to base our beliefs off a movie. Our beliefs come from the Word Of God. What about the hymns in our hymn book? A number of them aren't really theologically correct yet we still sing them in our Churches. Where do we set the line in the media we watch, listen to, or sing? Is it not a double standard for Christians to abstain from secular music, yet allow for watching of secular movies? Is not a song by a secular artist about theological truth the same as a movie by a secular producer about theological truth?

We were leaving a town near Niagara Falls after spending the weekend ministering at a church there. As Testify all piled in the Suburban, Ben searches frantically for his Bible, to no avail. Finally he decides that "Well it's gotta be in the truck somewhere". So we take off on our journey heading North towards Owen sound, traverse bridges, pass cities, and get involved in some pretty intense highway driving under the driving of Scott Foreman, our faithful team leader. An hour later as we drive through a town somewhere in Ontario a lady in the vehicle next to us exclaims with intense expression that "You have a daytimer back there!" while aggressively pointing to the back of the vehicle. We smile and say "thanks!" and have no idea what she is talking about until we finally decide to pull over. So we pull into a Timmy's (Not an uncommon occurance while on the road) and come to realize that Ben's Bible is sitting gently on the back bumper of the Suburban. No it was not wedged there, stuck there, or even held back by anything. It was gently resting on the bumper. After a minute of so of marveling on the event, we all were very glad that Ben had finally found his Bible and that it hadn't gone flying down the highway, or into anyone's windshield. Yes, the Word of God can do amazing things!

My blog had an issue where I could not post for a while, so here is the post which should have been posted on October 12. This last week we spent on the streets of Toronto and Hamilton. It is often easy to say, "spread the gospel to our streets and cities", however when one actually gets in a van, drives to a famous downtown intersection, steps into the busy sidewalk, and gazes onto a sea of hundreds of different shades of hair and skin tones walking busily this way and that, it seems a tad bid more difficult to spread what we set out to spread. Most people at first gathered in groups speaking of their fears and waiting for orders from our experienced evangelist, Sam ***, of Open Air Campaigners. However it was very encouraging to me personally to see, as soon as we stepped onto the streets, a select few who dove in head first, and within 15 seconds were having intense conversations with a lost soul. So I and a few others went searching for a soul to speak to. I do not know why we went searching, they were everywhere...I suppose deep down in my heart I judged people, and would look for someone who looked like they might listen. This is how it was until I realized I didn't look at them like Christ did. I, unknowingly viewed them as people who needed to understand what I believed, and that I had to find the ones who would most likely want to understand and talk to them. However I meditated on Matthew 9:36 and realized what great compassion and burden Christ had on the lost. They were like sheep with no shepherd. A baby with no mother, or anyone to take care of it. It made Christ sad, it broke His heart. I also realized that there was no way to have the compassion and burden Christ had without first growing closer to Him. And so realizing that, I deepened my relationship with Christ, and the burden for the residents of not only Toronto and Hamilton came, but a burden to talk to everyone I see. The harvest is truly plentiful. Pray that I might become a faithful laborer. I talked with many people and had some great discussions. You may be surprised to hear that the largest group of people who I talked to were Muslims. Islamic beliefs have become very predominate in parts of Canada. However, each Muslim I spoke with was very interested in what I had to say, and each one gave me their contact info and wishes to talk about things more. Praise God for not only open doors, but open minds! I was so surprised that the entire week, I think only three or four people refused to listen to what I had to say. Weeks ahead of our arrival we had prayed for open doors when evangelizing, and the power of prayer again proved itself! I only wonder, how many open doors were walking around that I did not go in? I also had the opportunity of leading a man I believe is in his fifties to the Lord. Barry Dickson had heard it all, but never realized He needed to make the decision. Pray that he will grow in his faith and realize to the fullest extent what God's grace is all about. On the first day, in Hamilton, a few of us bumped into each other while "searching for an open door", and of course to avoid confrontation often subconsciously we would talk with each other about how the day was going. I remember Sharon, a Korean student, suddenly turned around, walked in a straight line, crossed the street, and walked at a fast pace down the sidewalk on the other side and directly to a woman sitting on a bench some 40 meters away from us. I learned later that the young Filipino woman not only accepted Christ as her savior, but was very interested in spending one of her years in Canada at WO while waiting for certain things regarding citizenship. Isn't it amazing how our God works? After our week of open air, four of the N*** (Josh, Jason, Julie, and I), went to Kathy *** for Thanksgiving Weekend. She is also originally from N****. We had a good time there with her family, and even received a grand tour of the cruise ship she worked on. So now I am back at school, and we are enduring an intense week of Hebrews. Tomorrow is Testify's first performance at Rock M*** Youth Emphasis service. Pray that we will be able to use our gifts to minister to the youth of Rock ***. It's a good thing I don't follow the Luck Religion or else tomorrows performance would be destined to failure as it is Friday the 13th.

Now we are in the meat of the year here at WO. We just finished studying 1 Peter with Pastor **  Hobbs. It's exciting to learn so many new things from passages that I have read many times before. I realize more and more that there is never a point when you can stop learning from a passage, and there is no passage you cannot learn from. All scripture is profitable. For the past couple days we have had Sam Fry with us teaching us Evangelism. In about eight minutes from now we are heading out to Toronto for a few days of Open Air Evangelism. Sam  ** has been teaching us some tools and tricks to use to spread the gospel (such as the rope trick, and others). What else has been going on here at WO? Well we had our official Floor Hocky draft pick, and we formed two official teams. The WO Warriors, and the BI Bullies. These games are going to be replacing our near religiously nightly pick up hockey games. Also Testify was formed. Students tried out for a ministry team similar to that of the former ** Team. Testify will be going out to churches, schools, and events across Ontario doing music and singing, drama, and specialized ministries. It is a co-ed group made up of three girls and four guys here. God worked it out so that I could be on the team too, which is also part of an answer to prayer regarding my financial need, as it comes with a $600 scholarship. This opportunity also came with a decent workload as we have voice and music lessons almost daily. However we still find time once in a while to relax, or do something exciting. The other day a few of us made it out to the Niagara Escarpment and explored some caves over there. We were able to find a few decently deep caves and do some repelling and intense rock climbing, without any serious injuries. I did happen to become wedged in a small part of the cave for about 10 minutes, but after a good amount of groans and moans I was freed. However, I must rush as the vans are being packed and loaded for Toronto. Until Another Time...Go

The year here at WO  keeps going on, and getting better. On Saturday we did some door-to-door ministry. My group of 3 were able to talk to a lady named Kathy who was a JW. We had a great talk, and exchanged contact information. She wants to talk to us again and discuss some issues more. I also had the chance to finally get my bike out and try some of the hundreds of trails on the 220 acre property here with a friend. WO  has some great activities for their summer and winter camp, including paintball, with a big fort even, high ropes, rock climbing, skiing/snowboarding, an extensive obstacle coarse, wilderness, mountain biking, BMX, archery, and more. We have the opportunity of working with kids during winter and summer as part of our course. I may return to N* for my summer work, however. We will see what God has in plan. Yesterday I was able to make my first trip in *** shopping and got some much needed supplies for my dorm. In the picture you can see some of my friends here at WO. In the front its Sherie (Sure ee), Mike's right eye, Me, and somewhere behind all of us is my roommate Daniel. This week we have John **** with us. He authored Stranger *** as well as many other books and videos. I was surprised to walk into our dining room, and run into him, and for him to say, "You must be an Enns". I wouldn't have even recognized the man himself if I hadnt watched one of his DVD's the day before. He used to work with *** and knows much of my Dad's side of the family. Anyways, this week we will be learning to use a tool to help us in effective ministry to our post-modernistic society. In a couple weeks we are scheduled to go to Toronto and Hamilton to do street ministry and we can use the things we learn there. Pray I will remember what I learn in my head, and be able to apply it with my heart and mouth. Thank You all for your prayers.

I safely arrived here at the WO Campus on the 8th of September, however not without more adventures on the way. We left Montreal's language and confusing road signs just after I jetted off an email to a long lost cousin living in Niagra. I informed him we would be in the area. About a half hour after crossing the Ontario boarder (back in Canada). He invited Josh and I to stay at his place in Niagra Falls. Once We arrived there I was able to get to know J* and wife K*. They had recently returned from ministry in Japan and Jeff is now serving as a Youth Pastor at an Alliance church in Niagra Falls. It was great spending time with them and catching up. Josh and I were able to see the sites of Niagra, and also work on our first assignment for school, ask 5 people 9 questions about God, Sin, and Man's purpose. It was very interesting and we received a wide variety of answers. We left Niagra and made the four hour trip up to Owen Sound without too much trouble.
Our overloaded car arrived on campus at about 3PM with more than one odd looks. Registration, moving in, hearing dozens of names which were not remembered, and getting to know the campus took up the rest of the day. Now I have completed my second day of classes. Read James 7 times, first 25 chapters of Genesis, 4 chaptors of Basic Theology, 2 chapters of Talk Through The Bible, and 7 chapters of Be Mature, a James study book....all outside class. It wasnt as bad as it sounds, but I am enjoying it. Already I have learned much and I am looking forward to a great year. I think I have the names of most of the guys in the dorm down packed. There are 3 Jonathan's, 3 Ben's, and 2 Nathans so that made it a bit easier. In total there are 46 students on campus, the largest class to date. Thank you for your prayers and support.

Its 1:48 AM N* (12:48 here) and we made it to our destination at last. We left T**** at about 11:45PM of the 4th, stopping by in S* NB to drop off some things, then of course the expensive gas stops. So far the trip has gone well. We hace survived today on Peanut Butter & Jelly, Peanut Oatmeal Bars, Twizzlers, Banana's, and some Orange Juice. It rained most of the way to Quebec, and our tarp which happens to be protecting my suitcase crammed with clothes, seemes to have been slightly shredded by the wind. Between Quebec City and Montreal a dense fog seemed to cause drowsiness so we picked up some Red Bull, after we located a gas station hidden in a cloud. The car is 5 inches off the road and has 2 inches of clearance before the shocks bottom out, but we seemed to do pretty well considering. There were a few hills as we crossed the Appalations (I know I spelled that wrong), that were slow going up, but we gained speed easy going downhill. We are staying at Josh's sister Naomi's place near Montreal. I guess we will see what happens tomorrow.

It is now in the mid latter part of August. I had a great summer working at ****. God has taught me a lot this summer. Three months ago I would never guess what I would be doing today. Getting ready for ****. So here I am figuring out finances, making paths on different roads to get there, wondering what 23 hours in a car will do to me.  First it was no one, then by a random order of events, just me, but then I told two friends, and through falling from a tree and telling another, four of us are all heading up to Ontario. Isn't it amazing how God works? I am looking forward for all the suprises that will come up the road. I learn to realize to expect that anything can happen, and I also learned to not worry at all for what the morrow, month, or year will bring, because it truly is in God's hands, and who would be able to handle a day, month or year, better than the Creator of all three? Pray for me in my journey this coming year. I hope to keep you all updated via this blog, it will be easier than sending out emails to all.
